Aging, sun exposure, and dehydration can really highlight wrinkles and fine lines on your face, neck and chest.

Skin tightening infrared light therapy firms skin and can remove wrinkles and fine lines over time, rebuilding skin from the inside out for smoother, younger-looking skin. It can be used to treat wrinkles, fine lines and sagging skin with no recovery or downtime.

What can Skin tightening IR do for me?

It can improve:

  • Skin texture and smoothness

  • Skin firmness to remove wrinkles

  • The appearance of fine lines and wrinkles around eyes, lips, and mouth

  • Sagging jowls, creating jawline definition

  • Wrinkles and sagging on the neck and décolleté

The Skin tightening IR treatment uses infrared light energy to penetrate to layers under the skin while the surface remains cool and comfortable. As those lower layers regenerate with new cells, you will see skin become firmer and smoother as the collagen foundation is gradually rebuilt and strengthened by the body for lasting results from the inside out.

The Skin tightening IR system’s precise controls also make safer, more effective and customizable for various skin types and issues.

Who is a candidate for Skin Tightening IR?

It is intended for all skin types and can be performed on any area of the body where an improvement in skin firmness is desired. Popular areas include the face, neck, abdomen and arms. The light pulse is often described as a wave of heat with the sensation of a hot stone. The procedure is not a substitute for a face-lift and results may vary from patient to patient. The procedure is recommended for patients who desire moderate, noticeable skin improvement without having to undergo surgery.

When will I see results?

Full results often take up to four months as the collagen foundation of your skin is rebuilt and strengthened. You may experience light, uniform redness developing a few minutes after treatment lasting up to 2 hours. A series of 4-5 treatments every 2-4 weeks is needed for most patients to achieve optimal results. A maintenance program is beneficial for maintaining results.

Are there any risks to Skin tightening IR?

This procedure is generally considered safe, but there are some rare potential risks. Please read the following information so that you are aware of the risks and how to prevent them.

•Though rare, scarring can occur following any photothermal procedure and can be permanent. Additional treatments may be needed to treat scarring.
• Burns are rare and represent the effect of heat produced within the tissues by thermal energy. The best way to prevent burns is to let the provider know if the treatment feels to hot. It should feel like a hot stone massage and it should not feel painful.  Additional treatment may be necessary to treat burns.
• During treatment, blistering may be an indication of sun exposure. This can occur during the first three days following the procedure. Contact your provider immediately if blistering occurs. Blistered areas should be treated with care, keeping the area moist with an ointment until the area has healed. Most blisters can be prevented by avoiding the sun before and after the procedure. Most blisters heal without a problem.
• Some patients develop raised bumps similar to hives. This irritation usually subsides in a few hours.
• Photothermal treatments, such as these, may potentially change the natural color of your skin. There is the possibility of irregular color variations within the skin including areas that are red, lighter and/or darker. Though rare, color change can occur following any photothermal procedure. The majority of these changes resolve with treatment in several months, but sometimes they can be permanent. People at risk for this are people with naturally dark skin. The best way to prevent this is by doing a test patch in one part of the treatment area 1 week before doing the treatment.
